Smith River Community Bank, N. A. was launched in 1999 by a group of local folks who remembered--and wanted again--what banking used to be—locally owned, community-based, hometown banking among friends and neighbors. That vision, that desire to treat people like people, has met with wonderful success. On January 1, 2008, we changed our name to River Community Bank, N.A. in recognition of the larger geographic area encompassed by the communities we serve. River Community, headquartered in Martinsville, is a totally independent community bank operating retail banking offices in Stuart, Stanleytown, Martinsville, and Drakes Branch, in Charlotte County, Virginia, a loan office in Danville, and a mortgage production office in Raleigh, North Carolina. We believe exceptional products, the highest standards of service, and dedicated employees who live and work in our communities continue to make all the difference.
